The National Joint Registry is responsible for collecting data on outcomes of surgery. This is to check how an individual Surgeon is performing and also to track any trends or changes. My 10 year results were recently released which were very positive, so I thought I would share them with you all.
Below is a chart which outlines my results. To help break down what this means:
Linkable primaries are primary Total Knee Replacements (TKR) or Unilateral Knee Replacements (UKR) for which they have enough information to link if they have a revision procedure.
Expected events are the number of revision procedures which would be expected for a surgeon at the national revision rate for that procedure ( ie national revision rate x number of procedures).
Observed events are the actual number of revision procedures for that surgeon.
